Disclosure: I was given this bottle of sauce in exchange for this post. All opinions here are my own.

Need some spice in your life? Listen up.

WarPig BBQ is comprised of veterans and sauce bosses, working not only as a business but as a competition BBQ team. This means that they test each product in competitions before selling. In fact, their FUBAR Elite BBQ Sauce won HEB Grocery’s Quest for Texas Best back in 2017.

Additionally, a portion of each purchase benefits charities with a veteran focus. This includes PTSD Foundation of America, Lone Survivor Foundation, and Folds of Honor.

I decided to try the FUBAR Flamethrower flavor because it seemed like the spiciest sauce to me.

Upon opening it, the nose was slightly sweet and acidic. It actually smells spicier than it tastes. Flavor-wise, the sauce was sweet, tangy, and mildly hot. Personally, I would have preferred it to be even spicier. However, after a couple of bites, I felt a slight warming sensation lingering on my tongue.

This would be a good introduction to spice for some, but not for those who prefer a more intense heat level. That being said, I love the charity aspect of the business and the meticulous competition testing before selling.

Bottles of WarPig BBQ retail from $7 to $10. Visit https://warpigbbq.com/.
