Restaurant Review: Galley at the Hilton
Disclosure: Me + one were given a free meal and drinks in exchange for this post. All opinions here are my own.
Situated inside the picturesque Hilton, restaurant Galley isn’t just all looks – the restaurant is full of substance, too.
Serving a twist on modern American fare, guests can enjoy classics such as the Steak Frites or Vegetable Risotto.
Guests can also enjoy the Taste for Twosday offer, which is a three course menu for two at the price of $99.
My fiancé and I dined at the Galley during this deal and immensely enjoyed the courses from new chef Joel Rodriguez. Here’s the breakdown of what we indulged in.
Drinks
My beverage of choice was What the Dr Ordered (sia blended scotch, single malt mix, lemon, domaine de canton, honey). A scotch lover myself, I found it to be smooth and well-balanced with a kick.
My fiancé ordered the Mango Mule (haku vodka, mango, ginger beer, lime, grapefruit). I tried a sip and found it was not too sweet and rather pleasant.
Appetizers
Slow Cooked Pork Belly
This was my fiancé’s choice but luckily, I reaped the benefits. At first bite, I loved cilantro topping and the charred outside. The sweet sauce and warm peaches that accompanied the pork was a perfect addition.
Lobster Crispy Rice
The lobster was served pureed with a smoky taste. Topped with cilantro, this appetizer was a phenomenal blend of textures and a must have when attending Galley.
Main Courses
Seasonal Salmon
This fish was tender but not too soft, and orange glazed. Beet puree and whipped yucca/kobocha were part of the highlight of this meal for me: the whipped textures of both were savory additions that enhanced, not overwhelmed, firm baby carrots and zucchini.
Prime Filet Mignon (8 oz.)
This was my fiancé’s dish, which he ordered medium. I’m usually not a steak lover, but this was out of this world. His choice accoutrements were chimichurri and garlic butter, which I can attest was an excellent choice.
Dessert
Gooey Oven Baked Cookie
Served in a skillet, this dessert was soft, warm, and contrasted beautifully with vanilla ice cream. And yes, it was vanilla with tiny black flecks. A side of sticky caramel sauce took this dish to a decadent level.
Other offers include Monday Locals Night (those living in the zip code of 33401 get 30% off), Wine Wednesday (bottles that cost less than $100 are discounted at 50% off), and Sunday Industry Night (those who work in hospitality get 30% food and beverages).
