Product Review: Maui Nui Venison
Disclosure: I was given this product in exchange for this post. All opinions here are my own.
Depending on where you live, venison may be hard to come by. However, Maui Nui Vension sells butcher boxes of nutritious and low-fat, wild-harvested Hawaiian Axis deer cuts. Additionally, they also sell snacks and bone broths.
I was able to try a butcher box and let me tell you, it was delicious.
Ground Vension
We kept seasoning simple with black pepper, garlic, salt, paprika, and onions.
This had a lean taste and was not greasy like most ground beef. This was served with white rice, bbq beans and hot sauce.
Another plus: I did not feel bloated after.
4 Rib Rack
We made this on the grill as an appetizer when friends came over.
Again, we kept the seasoning simple. This time, we only used spices from Omaha Steaks.
This lean meat was soft and easy to chew, but not super chewy. It didn’t get stuck in my teeth like other meats, which is a huge annoyance. To me, this meat was an indulgence without the unnecessary pomp and circumstance.
Leg Medallions
These were my favorite of the cuts and was cooked medium with Omaha Steak seasoning. Honestly, I liked this more than steak! It was not super chewy and each tender bite was packed with juice, not fat. I ate it with roast potatoes, yellow rice, peas, and carrots. We used the stove to cook it, but a grill would work as well.
