Ivy’s Reserve Salted Farmhouse Butter has quite the historical background. Derived from a recipe in the 1930’s, it originally was created by the Wyke Farms’s matriarch Ivy Clothier.

This butter is also made with fresh cream, renewable energy, and is carbon-neutral. Most importantly, it’s probably the best butter I’ve ever tried.

I paired it with Ukrainian pumpernickel toast where it melted in mere seconds. The butter spread so smoothly and effortlessly. There’s a whipped texture which dissolves in my mouth. It’s also not overly salty, which I love.

Unfortunately, patience and some planning is required before usage. The butter is rock solid when taken out immediately from the fridge, and therefore can’t be used. So, it should be left outside of the fridge in room temperature prior to usage. Try 30 minutes prior, but your mileage may vary. As the old adage goes, good things come to those who wait.

Ivy’s Reserve Salted Farmhouse Butter can be purchased at Whole Foods Market. Visit ivys-reserve.com.
