Intuitive Essence creates essential oils perfume based on herbs, intentions, and astrology. “All of my zodiac essences are made with the oils/herbs connected to the planet that rules each sign,” said founder Audrey Herrington. “They are made based on astroherbalism.”

Vegan and cruelty-free, the oils can be bought as a roll-on or as a spray bottle.

In my package, I received three 15 ml roll-ons of Cancer (my sun and moon sign), Virgo (my rising sign), and Capricorn (Harrington packaged this one based off my “confident” and “bold” personality and my liking of Zodica Perfumery’s Gemini scent). I love the size of each scent and the labels which include the intended result for the wearer, sign characteristics, and notes.

The perfumes came in colorful up-cycled Indian silk sari bags, perfect for travel. Also included were paper descriptions of each perfume and how the notes correlate with the sign.

Capricorn

December 22 – January 19

Notes:

  • Blood orange
  • Tea rose
  • Oud wood

This managed to be both citrusy and cosy at the same time. I’ve never experienced this in a perfume before! I could not stop sniffing my wrist. The Capricorn scent can be used for all seasons: it’s light enough for hot temperature yet sufficiently grounded for cooler weather. It’s just lovely.

Cancer

June 21 – July 22

Notes:

  • Cucumber
  • Jasmine
  • Oakmoss

Refreshing, soft, and alluring. This is one of the types of scents I gravitate towards. Cucumber provides an aquatic feel that is rounded out by jasmine for a subtle floral touch. I reapplied, which I almost never do with fragrance. Beautiful!

Virgo

August 23 – September 22

Notes:

  • Lavender + Bergamot
  • Plum blossom
  • Oud

The smell was powdery and reminded me of incense or a spiritual shop. It was a little too strong for me and I had to wash it off. Crazy enough, I was still able to smell it afterwards. The oil has more of a yellow tint than the others so it must be stronger. If you love these notes, great news – it will last a very long time.
