Disclosure: I was given this product in exchange for this post. All opinions here are my own.

For those needing to cut down on sugar but still want a taste of indulgence, HighKey sells low sugar cookies and snacks with clean ingredients and without gluten. One of their cookie flavors is the Sandwich Cookies, which closely mimics Oreos.

As someone who has twice given up eating Oreos for Lent, I was curious to see how HighKey Sandwich Cookies measured up.

First, let’s discuss the pros. One serving, which is the equivalent of two cookies, has 0 grams of sugar, 7 grams of fiber, 2 grams of net carbs and are only 60 calories. There are five servings in one sleeve.

Something to keep in mind is the packaging disclaimer: “Not a low calorie food. Contains 4g total fat per serving”. Additionally, there are 17 grams of carbs per serving and less than one gram of protein.

That being said, HighKey’s version is still a healthier alternative to the majority of cookies on the market today.

Now, the cons. HighKey Sandwich Cookies are smaller and don’t twist apart as easily as regular Oreos. Admittedly, they taste better in milk (I used oat milk) than as a standalone snack.

However, although I do think Oreos taste better overall, I found that I did get that usually jittery, want-to-jump-out-of-my-skin feeling I usually get when eating a ton of sugar. So, I was able to eat more HighKey Sandwich Cookies than Oreos in one sitting.

My final thoughts: HighKey Sandwich Cookies are a great no sugar substitute to Oreos but if i did want to eat Oreos, most likely I will buy the brand name.

Buy HighKey on Amazon or visit their site for more snacks.
