Disclosure: I was given this product in exchange for this post. All opinions here are my own.

I’m constantly trying to cut down on waste and live a more eco-friendly lifestyle. I find this goal to be challenging at times, especially in the kitchen.

Assisting with this goal is Great Wrap. This Australian company has created two products to combat the waste that stretch wrap has created.

Their own stretch wrap, called Nudie Rolls, is created from potato waste. It’s compostable and can be easily ordered as a one-time purchase or as a subscription.

Nudie Rolls fits easily into the Great Mate, a 16 inch X 3 inch dispenser that is not only refillable, but created from 33 recycled plastic bottles. The Great Mate holds one Nudie Roll at a time, allowing users to roll out the amount needed before slicing it with the built-in slider mechanism.

When the Nudie Roll runs out, the dispenser is reusable for other Nudie Rolls, although you can order the dispenser kit as a subscription. The Great Mate also comes in four colors: pea (light green), lila (pastel purple), sandy (beige), and pebble (grey).

I have the grey one, and found upon receiving it that the size is a bit bulkier than the standard one-time use boxes. Nonetheless, this is a sacrifice I’m willing to make in order to eliminate as much waste as possible. The Great Mate seems to only hold the Nudie Rolls efficiently as it became difficult to fit other brand’s rolls inside. So, it’s best to use or give away whatever brand you have before ordering this.

Aside from those two small observations, I highly recommend Great Wrap to turn your kitchen sustainable and green. Visit Great Wrap here.
