Fab Slab cutting board

Fab Slabs are handmade from Camphor Laurel trees in Australia, proving to be a more sustainable choice than plastic alternatives. Since they are handmade, each board has a unique design.

Additionally, Fab Slabs claim their boards are both “naturally and permanently antibacterial”. According to their website, a NATA-approved lab tested the boards for Listeria, Salmonella, Staph, and E Coli. Results showed that bacteria not only didn’t survive after a brief period of time but there was no bacterial growth after 7–10 years of use.

My initial impression of the Fab Slab cutting board was that it is more aesthetically pleasing and thicker than our plastic ones. Because of this, it would make a great display for serving charcuterie or appetizers.

Additionally, it’s easy to clean and small enough for storage, but not too small for prepping food. Chopping onions on the board was efficient and the height elevated the board off the kitchen counter a decent amount, unlike our thin plastic boards.

Fab Slabs come in a variety of shapes and sizes and can also be personalized, which is perfect for a housewarming or wedding gift.

Boards can be purchased on Amazon, Macy’s, Wayfare, Lowe’s, and more.
