For those who want a drink that provides relaxing benefits and does not contain alcohol, kava might be the solution.

Kava is a powder thar originates from the kava plant’s roots. It has an almost dirt-like taste and is served in kava bars. Some companies, like the Art of Kava, serves them for consumers to make at home.

The Art of Kava has plenty of variety to choose from. They sell Fiji Kava, Solomon Islands Kava, Vanuatu Kava, and even Kava chasers. Consumers can either mix the kava in a blender with water or wrung by hand in a bowl of water. Both methods involve a strainer, but the blender method is faster. Kava is best served chilled.

The intention of kava is to relax the body, and the Art of Kava claims that this sensation will last around three hours. Kava is also thought to create a numbing sensation around the mouth area. Due to the relaxation properties, it’s best not to operate heavy machinery after drinking.

Please ask your doctor if you have any concerns before trying Kava.
