Disclosure: I was invited to dine at Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar in West Palm Beach in exchange for this post. All opinions here are my own.

August is a special time in West Palm Beach: it’s Restaurant Month. In other words, from August 1–31, select restaurants offer culinary deals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Think multi-course meals for a bargain price among other deals — it’s a steal.

I was invited to try the Restaurant Month menu at Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar, which offers a three-course meal. From the select menu, diners can choose an appetizer, entree, and dessert, all for the price of $45 (pre-tax and pre-tip). Here’s what I ordered.

Flautas

For my appetizer, I ordered the flautas (fried flour torillas rolled with chicken on the inside and sal chile de árbol on the side). These were crunchy and reminded me of egg rolls. Accompanying this dish was avocado, tomatoes and sour cream (the sal chile de árbol), which added nice flavor and a creamy texture. Truthfully, I would sub in Rocco’s extra hot sauce instead of the sauce that came with it as I prefer more spice with my meals. Rocco’s extra hot sauce is homemade with habanero and provides mouth tingling flavor throughout the whole meal — it’s a must when I visit.

Next up was the entree. I decided to go with the Tacos De Casa Platter, which came with rice and beans. For this classic dish, I chose fish as my protein, which was a very generous portion. You honestly can’t go wrong with tacos at Rocco’s. Diners can choose from pork, shrimp, mushrooms, chicken, chorizo, steak, or ground beef and gluten-free corn tortillas or flour tortillas. I ended up taking home the rice and beans because I was so full from the flautas and tacos, but alas, I had dessert to eat.

Churros with chocolate sauce and ice cream

My meal ended on a sweet note with Charley’s Churros, which were accompanied by vanilla ice cream and drizzled chocolate. The churros were crispy and I loved the cinnamon dusting on top. However, the chocolate was a tad too decadent for me. I ended up leaving two behind as I was too full to finish them. I did, however, eat all of the ice cream and whipped cream, which was perfect for the hot summer day.

I highly recommend dining at Rocco’s Tacos not only for The Palm Beaches Restaurant Month, but at any time of the year. It’s a fun date night spot, with plenty of fun drinks and tasty food to choose from.

Pro-tip: If you visit the West Palm Beach location on Clematis, ask for Adrian as your waiter. He works on Saturdays, has been there for 10 years, and is impeccable with his service.
