Disclosure: I was invited to dine at Dubliner Irish Pub in Boca Raton in exchange for this post. All opinions here are my own.

The Dubliner Irish Pub in Mizner Park has been helping «strangers become friends» for years. With traditional Irish cuisine, extensive whiskey list, plethora of TVs for sporting events, and live entertainment all week long, it would be almost impossible not to become buddies with your fellow barflies.

Dubliner has recently rolled out new menu items, including two meals for brunch. I was invited to try some new dishes and trust me, it did not disappoint.

The Mulgoba Mule ($12) Tito’s Vodka, J.F. Hodgen’s Mango Liqueur, Fever-Tree Ginger Beer, Lime, Mint

A twist on a regular Moscow mule, this one contains subtle mango flavor from the mango liqueur added to this traditional drink. I did not order this one, but had a sip. It’s not too sweet, but is instead refreshing and breezy.

Elderflower Old Fashioned ($12) Russel’s Reserve Bourbon, Elderflower, Chareau Aloe Liqueur, Cornflower

Balanced and floral, this drink is perfect for fan favorites of the traditional Old Fashioned as well as those trying this beverage for the very first time. Flowery yet not saccharine, it has a pleasant fragrance and even better taste.

Beer Cheese Fondue ($12.50) Fresh Veggies, Apples and Pretzel Bites

This was my favorite dish of the night, hands down. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy, the cheese was delicious, and the pretzels were fluffy with just the right amount of salt. Perfect for sharing, but you wouldn’t want to.

County Mayo Chicken Wings ($15.50) 1 lb. of fresh wings tossed in Dubliner’s dry spice blend. House-made bleu cheese dressing & hot sauce.

These wings are delicious on their own, which speaks volumes about the dry spice blend Dubliner has created. Not normally a fan of bleu cheese, I enjoyed the more subtle version of this house-made one. The spicy sauce provided a nice kick without being too overwhelming.

Pro tip: if you have any cheese remaining from the aforementioned fondue, use it on the wings. My favorite sauce, personally.

Old #13 «Newman» Sandwich ($15) Piled high hand-carved pastrami & corned beef, ground mustard, rye bread, with coleslaw & pickle.

A zhuzhed up version of menu item #13, the «Newman» is reminiscent of a traditional deli sandwich. Stacked high in between two slices of rye, the savory meat is complimented by creamy sauce. The coleslaw was crunchy and not overly drenched in mayo, unlike other variations of this side. Fans of the Reuben will thoroughly enjoy this one.

Another pro tip: if you have any meat left over, heat it up in a skillet and add two eggs for a tasty, next day breakfast.

Half-Pound Dub Smash Burger ($14.50) Two 1/4 lb patties, american cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and special sauce on a soft potato roll. Served with hand-cut steak fries or sweet potato fries.

Talk about the American Dream. This burger is quite the handful, and that’s a good thing. Only $5 on Wednesday’s, it’s part of the new menu revamp.

St. Patrick’s Day isn’t the only time to enjoy Irish fare. Stop by Dubliner Irish Pub for a refreshing cocktail, scrumptious meal, and a non obstructed view of the game. You make even make a new friend while you’re there.

Dubliner Irish Pub is located at 435 Plaza Real, Boca Raton in Mizner Park. Visit their website.
