Disclosure: I was invited to dine at Seventeen Restaurant and Sushi Bar in exchange for this post. All opinions here are my own.

Nuzzled in South Beach’s strip of restaurants, shops and pedestrians walking fru fru puppies is Seventeen Restaurant and Sushi Bar. It’s been around for over ten years, and rightfully so: the service is quick, the food is tasty, and the interior is so clean you would never know there is heavy construction occurring next door.

This Kosher food spot offers not only traditional sushi favorites, but a wide array of Italian dishes. Here are 5 meals that embrace both sides of the menu.

The Matias Roll

Named after the owner, this sushi roll is a fun compilation of flavors, ingredients and textures. Imitation crab tempura is housed next to avocado and cream cheese, and then topped with spicy tuna and crunchy onions (onions not pictured). Spicy mayo and eel sauce are generously drizzled over, adding even more pizazz to the roll.

Pesto Pasta

The pesto sauce is so delicious, you’ll be scraping the bowl even after the pasta is gone. Creamy and cheesy, it’s everything pesto needs to be and then some. Need I say more?

Ceviche

This dish is the epitome of fresh. Made with the catch of the day, the fish is mixed with red and green peppers, red onion and is marinated in citric flavors topped with cilantro.

Stuffed Fugazzeta Pizza

This indulgence is what a pie is made of. Mozzarella cheese pizza is topped with sautéed onion, olive oil, garlic and oregano for a truly satisfying and savory dish. Maybe chew on a stick of gum before making out with your date after eating a slice or two.

Seared Salmon Roll

This roll is rice-less, but is by no means tasteless. Created with imitation crab salad, avocado, cream cheese, scallions and salmon, it’s slightly reminiscent of a bagel with lox, minus the carbs. A dash of cilantro and drizzle of spicy lemon sauce only heighten the flavor.

Pro tip:

Order a cappuccino after your meal and thank me later.
